I would like it to ring first to my desktop and then to my mobile app if not answered. 6 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17760278 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759 17760278 Eric L responded to "Control ring order of Desktop App and Mobile App." 2016-08-15T15:22:32Z 2016-08-15T15:22:32Z Eric L http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8016806 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/9ac4ccc36bcae15f817aa41edbd2e8d2?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG eric_lovalvo This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Call Handling: Prevent mobile & desktop app from ringing simultaneously.

US RingCentral Office Enterprise

We're in the process of transitioning our agents from using the desk phone to the desktop app, but the two principals of our agency also use the mobile app while they're on the road. Right now, the only available setting for ringing to the apps is to ring to them before ringing to the desk phone or any forwarding numbers. Unfortunately, this would mean that they would receive calls on both the desktop & mobile apps simultaneously. While they could technically log-out of the mobile app to prevent the simultaneous call notifications, it would become cumbersome to have to remember to log-out when the come into the office, and to log-in again before leaving.

Would it be possible to add a setting to the mobile app, allowing each user to set up multiple location/Wi-Fi exceptions? Ideally, this would allow the app to identify when the user is at one of the offices or at home, or connected to Wi-Fi at one of those locations. When the app recognizes the location/Wi-Fi, the mobile app will no longer receive incoming notifications (call, text, etc).

I'm not sure if it's possible to let the user choose between setting location exceptions or Wi-Fi exceptions, but that might be best rather than just allowing one type of exception, as I'm sure that each company would have their own preference. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17760354 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17760278 17760354 Eric L responded to "Control ring order of Desktop App and Mobile App." 2016-08-15T15:39:48Z 2016-08-15T15:39:48Z Eric L http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8016806 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/9ac4ccc36bcae15f817aa41edbd2e8d2?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG eric_lovalvo I'm not sure who merged my post to this conversation/topic, but please undo it. If you read my post, you'll find that it has nothing to do with allowing the desk phones to ring before the apps, or the overall order in which the apps & phones ring.

I'm requesting a feature to be added which would create an exception so that the mobile app doesn't ring when you're at a specified location (like the office), where you'd be sitting in front of the computer with the desktop app. 4 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17798901 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759 17798901 Brian Quick responded to "Control ring order of Desktop App and Mobile App." 2016-08-29T14:05:32Z 2016-08-29T14:05:32Z Brian Quick http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8617502 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/c6ce667032da05fcb2127e4ff0512362?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG brian_quick_aeq5ipxkn0imy This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Calls on softphone app ring on mobile app. This needs to be separated, so when I....

Please separate differentiation between soft phone and smartphone app in settings where you can not take queue calls. I don't want my mobile phone ringing while I'm at my desk taking soft phone calls! 4 Aggravated http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17799294 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17798901 17799294 Eric L responded to "Control ring order of Desktop App and Mobile App." 2016-08-29T15:51:03Z 2016-08-29T15:51:03Z Eric L http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8016806 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/9ac4ccc36bcae15f817aa41edbd2e8d2?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG eric_lovalvo Agreed! In my above post, I pitched the idea of being able to set Wi-Fi/location exceptions so that your mobile app won't ring while you're at home or the office. 2 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17799322 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6488759/replies/17760278 17799322 Eric L responded to "Control ring order of Desktop App and Mobile App." 2016-08-29T15:59:50Z 2016-08-29T15:59:50Z Eric L http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8016806 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/9ac4ccc36bcae15f817aa41edbd2e8d2?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG eric_lovalvo Not sure about everybody else, but I'm a little concerned that this entire thread almost seems like a "dumping thread". Of the 17 replies in this thread, 12 were similar feature requests which were merged here, and only 1 is a reply from an RC Rep (not including the 1 comment from another RC Rep) from over a year ago. Furthermore, this is one of the most liked & followed threads in this entire community forum.

Could we please get an update as to whether this is under consideration, or just not going to happen? But sometimes when they are not sitting at their desk, or are out somewhere else, they would prefer the call rings to their smart phone through the app. I know this could be similiarly accomplished by setting their cell phone number as one of the sequential dials, but the point would be to not use their own cell phone service and to use the company's RingCentral service. 4
