To make it work, I have to remove the filter, save the report, re-add the filter with the new options, and re-save. If I am going through the process to change the report and save it, it should update without having to remove and re-add the filter. idea pending 8 10 13 comment http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088/replies/16318282 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088 16318282 Mac McCrory responded to "Changing a filter on a Report should also update the Dashboard" 2015-11-13T15:35:29Z 2015-11-13T15:35:29Z Mac McCrory http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/7862741 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/5b401397f0d998b8e8242c1b9d145aeb?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG mac_mccrory Totally agree. If we were to remove this capability, any changes that a user makes to a report will not be sticky and will be reset to the report builder version every time he logs in. Let me know if this makes sense.

Thanks! 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088/replies/16378337 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088 16378337 Dave Boulos responded to "Changing a filter on a Report should also update the Dashboard" 2015-11-30T21:23:41Z 2015-11-30T21:23:41Z Dave Boulos http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/7116624 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10391906/HeadShot-Cropped-Small_medium.jpg dave_boulos Hi Sumesh,

This makes sense as why it performs the way that it does today. But for us, it would be better to always default to the filter from the report builder version. Would it make sense to have this be an option in the report builder? A checkbox for if you want to allow the users to retain changes on the dashboard? I don't have a use case for the state preservation by user but others may and it would make sense to allow for either. 2 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088/replies/16530184 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088 16530184 Tom Wix responded to "Changing a filter on a Report should also update the Dashboard" 2016-01-19T18:34:59Z 2016-01-19T18:34:59Z Tom Wix http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/7526972 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10532903/DSCN0601-Nola_medium.jpg tom_wix I second the vote on making this an option.

We have the same situation and its confusing the CSMs in our case. (more education for me to push to the CSMs :) 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088/replies/16708642 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088 16708642 Lane H responded to "Changing a filter on a Report should also update the Dashboard" 2016-03-15T13:42:36Z 2016-03-15T13:42:36Z Lane H http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/7864798 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10685460/NewProfilePic_medium.jpg lane_holt Agreed! If I update a report in the reports section, I shouldn't have to remove the report for the dashboard it is in and re-add it to get the new actions to appear.

Example:
- Saved report in Report Builder

- Same report in a dashboard
2 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088/replies/18858912 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6835088 18858912 Samantha Braastad responded to "Changing a filter on a Report should also update the Dashboard" 2017-08-07T15:18:08Z 2017-08-07T15:18:08Z Samantha Braastad http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8189521 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10894897/F_medium.jpg samantha_braastad What is the update on this? It does not make sense that a dashboard has to be rebuilt from scratch when a report is modified.
1
