I have checked and verified with the easy step-by-step instructions to make sure that I have the system properly set. I used my Laptop and desktop and I got the same issue. Now I would like to ask If someone can recommend something else. Are you connecting this to a computer or home stereo? If a home stereo, please ensure that you're connecting this via Line Input, not Phono. If your computer, as you stated, make sure you're setup correctly. If you confirmed that you are then it may very well be your needle cartridge. You can purchase replacement stylus cartridges by logging onto www.ionaudio.com/products/details/ict.... 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6988803/replies/16849063 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6988803 16849063 George Brousseau responded to "Hearing distortion on my Ion Profile LP" 2016-05-03T04:04:15Z 2016-05-03T04:04:15Z George Brousseau http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8195461 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/a328253126fdafd79f77d668e776b12e?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG george_brousseau Hello Chris D,

I connected the turntable to my computer and I have checked and verified with the easy step-by-step instructions and I am correctly connected. I don’t think I have a problem
With the needle. The reason is that I can hear the music/singer without any problem but the voice is not the actual singer, the voice is completely unrecognizable. I know the singer’s voice and what I hear is not.

Thank you for your response

George Brousseau 0 frustrated http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6988803/replies/16850676 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6988803 16850676 Bill R. responded to "Hearing distortion on my Ion Profile LP" 2016-05-03T15:51:21Z 2016-05-03T15:51:21Z Bill R. http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8209310 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10993990/download_medium.jpg bill_r_7894130 Hi George,

Make sure your cartridge is is securely connected to the tonearm whenever you are using the turntable. I just bought a new stylus for it. The sound is extremely distorted, both through the USB interface (connected to a PC) and the RCA plugs (connected to a home entertainment system). I've verified that the level switch is set to RCA Line and have tried it with the Gain control in high, medium, and low settings. I bought the new stylus on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...) and have tried it with both of the styluses that came in the package. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6988803/replies/17820247 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/6988803/replies/17812880 17820247 Bill R. responded to "Hearing distortion on my Ion Profile LP" 2016-09-06T18:57:10Z 2016-09-06T18:57:10Z Bill R. http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8209310 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10993990/download_medium.jpg bill_r_7894130 Charles -

Please go through the steps I'd suggested above. It works great when connected to my stereo via the RCA cables. When connected to my computer, what I hear is only very rough scratching and popping sounds. Doesn't even sound like music. I have tried the steps outlined above - converting the Windows 7 instructions to Windows 10, but no change. I've downloaded the lastest driver from the website, so I'm running out of ideas. Any thoughts? This is usually indicated as Tape, AUX, or CD. Do not connect your turntable to a phono-level input. This will damage the turntable's built-in pre-amp. 0
