In my case it's sometimes just slow to switch accounts even if the new account is highlighted but it eventually does switch. Occasionally I will enter a transaction in the wrong account because I failed to notice that the switchIng of accounts hasn't yet taken place. In my case I think it's because of my file size (139mb) and I'm using an iMac from 2009 and it's generally very slow compared to my new MacBook. When I launched Quicken today, the account register that was open in my previous Quicken session was selected in the left pane accounts list and was also active in the right pane, which is totally as expected. &nbsp;I then selected a different account in the left pane accounts list. &nbsp;However I didn't notice that the register open in the right pane did not change to the selected account, until after I had finished entering a new transaction. &nbsp;My first reaction was "no problem" I'll just drag and drop the transaction into the proper account. &nbsp;However, the drop was not allowed because Quicken seemed to think the account selected in the left pane was the same account open in the right pane, but it was not. After selecting a different account, then selecting the account with the erroneous transaction, I was able to drag and drop the transaction into the desired account. &nbsp; I would be very surprised if this is the desired behavior. There are no updates available when selecting "Check for Updates..." &nbsp;<br /><br />I was able to reproduce this on demand again just this morning. &nbsp;As I said, if I select a different account immediately after launching <b>for the first time on a given day</b>, the register in the right pane does not change. &nbsp;In my opinion, the real problem is not the situation that I first reported. The fundamental problem is more of a poor programming practice than an outright bug. &nbsp;There are several places where long running operations are performed on the User Interface thread, which blocks user input from being immediately accepted. Another example is the search field in the register. &nbsp;The actual search through the database is performed on the Main thread and may take a long time, hence the long running spinner visible during the search. I understand it doesn't always happen. I once had an issue where I shot a screen capture movie about 30 times before I captured one showing what I needed. Is this necessary for a user to do? No. But as this thread shows, it hasn't yet been addressed -- and it's possible hasn't even come to the attention of the developers. I was only suggesting trying to get a screen capture to provide more of a smoking gun to hopefully get the developers to take note.<br /><br />But wait, you say, it was previously reported via Report a Problem -- shouldn't that be enough? Maybe, but probably not. The people who view the Report a Problem submissions are a triage team that checks out the reports and writes up bug reports to pass to the developers. But if the triage person can't reproduce the reported issue or report how to make the problem happen, I believe they don't submit it as a bug. A video of the problem occurring still doesn't demonstrate exactly how to trigger it on demand, but my thought was that it might be enough evidence to get passed upstream.<br /><br />Feel free not to invest the time trying to capture this problem in action; &nbsp;I thought you or someone was saying that this happened often enough to be a real annoyance, and I just thought a video would provide the best chance to get it acted upon. 1
