The database in Quicken 2007 occasionally had such problems, unfortunately. But I don't understand the problem manifesting itself in backup files as well. as John suggest, reindexing sometimes magically puts things right, so I hope that will work for you. One note: always make a COPY of a backup file before you open it. That way, you're preserving the backup file as it was, in case you need to try different things with it. 1
