My 401(k) consists of nearly 50 different funds. That's what would make updating each transaction type so laborious. 50 funds x twice a month x 3 months = 1 giant PITA, 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793306/replies/19759724 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793306/replies/19759507 19759724 fanfare responded to "Setting up paycheck deductions to 401(k)" 2018-09-16T19:14:34Z 2018-09-16T19:14:34Z fanfare http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3754124 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/b56b2e12aa28297c5cb8c96cf783b799?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG fanfare If your 401k contribution is parceled into 50 different funds, you should consider a different strategy. Four or five at most should be adequate. The investment strategy of the various funds should be something you find satisfactory. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793306/replies/19759758 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793306 19759758 markus1957 responded to "Setting up paycheck deductions to 401(k)" 2018-09-16T19:47:42Z 2018-09-16T19:47:42Z markus1957 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8342825 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10880020/100_1898_medium.jpg markus1957 Generally, Quicken will not (cannot) assign that internal transfer without an user specific interaction like a memorized investment transaction. If you dig into the OFX download you will see that it is not downloaded as an internal transfer. It will show a regular Buy. I suppose the Paycheck reminder could be corrupted, but that should not impact the Buy transaction.

All I can say is that QW2017 did not operate like this in my working days. For now, all you can do is change the transactions one at a time to regular Buys using cash from the 401k as the source of funds. Then you need to pay attention each download to see if you can figure out what is happening. In Preferences turn off letting Quicken assign transfers without your approval and look for a memorized investment transaction (right click on one of the BoughtX transactions in the register) that might be changing the download to a BoughtX.
0
