I followed the instructions sent by Quicken . The last several weeks it works okay to download from my consumer credit cards, but the business credit cards (accessed with the same user profile) will not download. I have to go to the Chase website and manually download them.

Anyone else having these problems. Chase business technical support says they can't do anything. If the consumer accounts download then so should the business ones. problem errors_troubleshooting_olb errors_troubleshooting_olb, windows active 26 9 1 comment http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19759707 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381 19759707 Quicken Harold responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-16T18:57:52Z 2018-09-16T18:57:52Z Quicken Harold http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/9419664 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/11208731/ScreenShot2018-01-09at7.04.25AM_medium.png quicken_harold Hello Jeffrey, appreciate your question.

We need some more information in order to assist you: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/add-your-quicken-information-to-your-posts-plus-...

Also, are you connecting to Chase by Express Web Connect/Quicken Connect or Direct Connect?

Please let us know so that we can best help you.

Respectfully,
~ Quicken Harold. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19759714 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381 19759714 Jeffrey Wilens responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-16T19:06:55Z 2018-09-16T19:06:55Z Jeffrey Wilens http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3660362 https://graph.facebook.com/776068237/picture?type=normal jeffrey_wilens Quicken 2016 Deluxe. Express web connect for both consumer and business credit cards with Chase Bank.
0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19759788 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381 19759788 Jeffrey Wilens responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-16T20:05:28Z 2018-09-16T20:05:28Z Jeffrey Wilens http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3660362 https://graph.facebook.com/776068237/picture?type=normal jeffrey_wilens The problem may have to do with how Quicken is handling a business account with sub-accounts. There is a master account number and several individual employee account numbers (one for each card). But they are all accessed under the same profile to sign into Chase. Also, Quicken online support had be deactivate and reactivate. That changed from express web connect to direct connect but then it wanted to download each employee credit card as a separate account which would screw up how I would report that a bill was paid.
0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19759830 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381 19759830 Jeffrey Wilens responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-16T20:45:28Z 2018-09-16T20:45:28Z Jeffrey Wilens http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3660362 https://graph.facebook.com/776068237/picture?type=normal jeffrey_wilens More information about spending one hour with Quicken support and also time with Chase business card support. Here are the facts. Until about 3-4 weeks, ago I was able to download all of my business cards' transactions into Quicken at the same time as I did the consumer credit card account. The consumer account still come through but the business accounts no longer will download.

I think I have pinned down the problem. Either Quicken or Chase (they both deny it) have made some change to the handling of sub accounts (aka employee credit cards). For example, business owner has a credit card number and there are three sub-accounts for three employee cards. In the past they all came through together into a single account on Quicken called business card or whatever). Now, the sub-accounts won't download anymore unless you create a separate account for each sub-account which makes quite a mess since all the same historical transactions were saved under the main account.

One solution is to go the Chase's website and manually import the transactions for a date range as QFX file. Then all the transactions including sub-accounts will go into the preexisting Chase business account in Quicken.

0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19763403 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19763282 19763403 splasher responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-19T12:20:19Z 2018-09-19T12:20:19Z splasher http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/2941081 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/11331857/2018-10-0717_50_49-Tardis_medium.png oldsplasher WARNING: They decide if the accounts should be separate or together.

With Express Web Connect it gets a lot more "fuzzy" of where exactly the information comes from. Intuit servers (Quicken Inc contracts with Intuit) log in to the financial institution's and get the transactions. How to log in and in what format the data is in depends on the agreement between the financial institution and Intuit. It can be anything from fetching the QFX file to screen scraping their website.

You can switch to back to Express Web Connect if that will work for you, but your original post suggests that it won't work. And that isn't that unusual. Because Express Web Connect isn't any kind of standard, if the financial institution (or Intuit) all of a sudden decide to change their website/the way the data is converted, problems can come up.

To switch to Express Web Connect you would deactivate all your accounts, and then when setting them up again make sure you use the Advanced Setup link and then type in the financial institution name. The next dialog will give you the option to pick between Direct Connect or Express Web Connect.

You might also consider getting a separate user name for you business accounts so that you can separate them and use Direct Connect for personally accounts since it tends to be more reliable. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19771949 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19771851 19771949 Jeffrey Wilens responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-24T18:35:11Z 2018-09-24T18:35:11Z Jeffrey Wilens http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3660362 https://graph.facebook.com/776068237/picture?type=normal jeffrey_wilens Thanks for responding.

Express web connect works fine with the consumer account but not the business account. However, this is only the past 30 or so days. Before then it worked fine for both. So, something changed with Quicken and/or Chase Bank.

I did switch back to using express web connect after trying direct connection with the resulting issues with the business account due to multiple credit cards with different numbers.

If I got a separate login for business (not sure if that is possible) it's not clear how that would help. I would assume direct connect would still have the problem of breaking out each business card separately and express web connect would still not work. I don't think the fact the consumer card information is also there is the problem.

I was hoping this post would cause other Quicken users with Chase business cards to comment. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19771974 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19771851 19771974 QPW responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-24T18:50:44Z 2018-09-24T18:50:44Z QPW http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8342820 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10875282/original_medium.gif qpw The separate username idea was only if you could get Express Web Connect working for the business accounts and wanted to still use Direct Connect for the personal ones. So in this case it doesn't make sense because it will not add anything to it.

I will say that this isn't the first time I have seen business owners complain about this problem, either because they want them separate or because they wanted them combined and the financial institution/Intuit decided to do it differently.

BTW the OFX log might give clues to if it was the financial institution or Intuit that made the change. And note that would only apply to Express Web Connect,

If I had to guess though I would guess that it is Chase that made the change, even with Express Web Connect.

The reason it is called Express Web Connect is because at the start what they were doing was in fact doing exactly what you do with Web Connect go to the web site and download the QFX file. That is the easiest most reliable method they could use as log as they could log in, and get a URL for the QFX file they would be able to do it.
It wasn't until they wanted to expand it to financial institutions that weren't generating QFX files that they had to agree on different data formats to convert into QFX format that Quicken can use.

I wouldn't even be surprised that what has happened is that Chase changed the options on downloading the QFX file so that you can choose to keep the accounts separated or together, and the URL that Express Web Connect is using defaults to separate now. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19772006 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19771851 19772006 Jeffrey Wilens responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-24T19:05:32Z 2018-09-24T19:05:32Z Jeffrey Wilens http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3660362 https://graph.facebook.com/776068237/picture?type=normal jeffrey_wilens Where is the QFX log? Also to clarify a few thing,

1) Express Web Connect won't work at all with the Chase business account. It's not a problem of having to choose to combine or separate each business credit card.

2) Currently, I download the consumer account by clicking the download button in Quicken (it does not download in the global download with the other accounts). As for the business account, I used the download option on the Chase website. I filter the transactions I want by date and download as QFX file. It does not give me any options about keeping the business cards separate or not. It just downloads them all into the single business account in Quicken which is also open at the same time. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19772021 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19771851 19772021 QPW responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-09-24T19:11:42Z 2018-09-24T19:11:42Z QPW http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8342820 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10875282/original_medium.gif qpw The OFX log can be found at: Help -> I did try to Direct connect this month, but Quicken downloaded transactions going back to May 2018 that were already in the "overall" account so there were duplicates. Instead I deleted the accounts created by Direct connect. It did seem to be a problem at Citi's end - that was the claim anyway - so I stopped trying to download information into these Accounts while Citi/Quicken worked it out. At some point the issue was declared to be "Solved!" so I reactivated all the Accounts.

Although all these Accounts had previously used Direct Connect (DC) as the download mechanism, the reactivated Accounts has switched to Express Web Connect (EWC) and could not be changed back to DC even though I tried doing that several times over the months.

Some time ago - a month or two, maybe? - I began having problems with my CitiBusiness card, (with multiple separate cards), not downloading information into Quicken. Except that no transactions were downloaded and with the next One Step Update I'd get that exact same window.

This same problem - "wrong password" - extended itself to the internet and any attempt to sign into my account online. At one point I spent over 3 hours with one of CitiBank's online specialist doing everything under the sun to get this straightened away. Finally the online specialist put me on hold for a time to consult with a higher-level Poobah and came back with the answer that several people were having this problem and that it would be fixed in a week or so.

At some point after that I attempted the Deactivate/Reactivate process with all 5 Accounts and lo and behold, they all connected, using DC; I could also access the account via the internet and life has been good.

This is a long-winded comment to essentially say two things:

I do think CitiBank/CitiBusiness have changed something on their end that probably has something to do with your problem, and

My CitiBusiness card with 3 cards issued is downloading into on CitiBusiness Account on Quicken.

I probably should also mention that each of the 5 credit card accounts were established at separate times, each with it's own unique user name and password, and I have no idea if separating out your CitiBusiness card with its own unique user name and password might not help.

Have you tried creating a new "test" Quicken file and establishing that CitiBusiness account in their to see if the download behavior changes? 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19816208 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19815816 19816208 Jeffrey Wilens responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-10-21T16:12:00Z 2018-10-21T16:12:00Z Jeffrey Wilens http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3660362 https://graph.facebook.com/776068237/picture?type=normal jeffrey_wilens My problem is with Chase not Citibank and the several consumer cards (sharing same account number) work okay, but the several business cards (each has own account number) do not. I only use one sign in. I may get around to doing the "test" method but it seems to be more trouble than its worth versus simply going to the Chase website and downloading manually.

I think I have identified the problem with specificity so that Quicken can test the problem itself. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19816231 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7793381/replies/19815816 19816231 Tom Young responded to "Problems downloading Chase credit card transactions" 2018-10-21T16:36:54Z 2018-10-21T16:36:54Z Tom Young http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/2733890 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/2f7d7b618c13a56c7c6106bc1d993b75?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG tom_young_2448816 Ah!
