Still a lot of work on reconciled transactions. I did the repair validate option and that threw off balances by five figures..... So I restored from my backup and that's when I contacted Support.

My choices are:
1) Live with it
2) Create one to three new Asset accounts (e.g., vehicles, household items, other) and manually transfer the current value of the assets out by adding transfers. Then doing an adjustment to zero the account. Mark it hidden and move on.
3) Restore from multiple backups (thank you Carbonite, Quicken and Acronis) then reload 50+ transactions a week for 20+ weeks, plus all the adjustments...

I don't know about you but I'm of the belief that computers should be working for humans, not the other way around!

Comments on the rep's scripted comment:
Software quality means reliable, consistent, secure, and accurate. There should be some level of error tracking in the code if the developers know where to add it. I asked how do ensure that the programming team was aware of how many times this might be happening. Posting here and/or posting a complaint was the answer given.

problem errors_troubleshooting_non_olb errors_troubleshooting_non_olb, windows active 4 4 1 comment http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7801364/replies/19802924 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7801364 19802924 mshiggins responded to "Asset account shows a house I sold last May." 2018-10-14T03:59:27Z 2018-10-14T03:59:27Z mshiggins http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/2779851 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10875349/original_medium.PNG mshiggins What do you mean by the asset account became linked to a house? 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7801364/replies/19803169 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7801364/replies/19803140 19803169 RickO responded to "Asset account shows a house I sold last May." 2018-10-14T11:39:36Z 2018-10-14T11:39:36Z RickO http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8400030 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10875315/original_medium.jpg ricko_i3b4avxnghg4a DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER IN THE PREVIOUS POST.

The post is from fake Quicken Sarah and the number is a scam. 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7801364/replies/19803321 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7801364 19803321 txaggiese responded to "Asset account shows a house I sold last May." 2018-10-14T14:39:38Z 2018-10-14T14:39:38Z txaggiese http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/1463365 https://graph.facebook.com/v2.0/10215389196190446/picture?type=normal txaggiese I track Furniture, Jewelry, cars in a "Other Assets" account. One day it had the old house showing at the top of the registry and none of the usual controls to manage the account (i.e. gear for options/configuration).

My solution was #2. I dumped the old file to Excel, reviewed the values and am making transferring entries from the old "Other Assets I Think I'm Your Old House" account to two new ones (Car and Other). It's taking some time but I have to admit it is good to review the assets' value. 0
