Exception list always exists and has been in use in all previous versions. Exception entries are either manually put in or by restoring the deleted file and let TM creates it (that's what it claims it will do). The file concerned has 3 entries on the list, though not identical i.e. they all have different composition of lower and upper case letters. e.g. WINDOWS/TEMP, windows/temp.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />The file is deleted everyday during pc startup when the file is used. After restoring, running the same file does not cause any problem; also running full scan does not cause any problem either. I have tried uncheck the 'Scan for suspicious files as the computer starts' but it didn't work.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />There is also another file which got deleted when I inadvertently open the folder containing that file. That file is not used and will not be used. But that's not the point. If I specify something to be kept, then it should be kept.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />I am running Windows 10 Pro 1803 (64 bit).<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Regards 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19851477 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040 19851477 Tom Emmelot responded to "Exception List has no effect" 2018-11-10T19:26:17Z 2018-11-10T19:26:17Z Tom Emmelot http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3296549 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/8626769/TOM_medium.jpg tom_emmelot Hi <a alt="" href="https://en.community.trendmicro.com/tm_en/people/esotam" name="" rel="nofollow" target="" title="" type="" value="">esotam</a><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Sorry for the late response.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Can you make a screenshot from the files that are detected in the Exception list?<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Did you put the windows folder in the "Folder shield"?<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Did you try to put the whole folder in the Exception list?<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Here from you.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Kind regards,<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Tom<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /> 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19851498 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19851477 19851498 Tom Emmelot responded to "Exception List has no effect" 2018-11-10T19:50:26Z 2018-11-10T19:50:26Z Tom Emmelot http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3296549 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/8626769/TOM_medium.jpg tom_emmelot Hi <a alt="" href="https://en.community.trendmicro.com/tm_en/people/esotam" name="" rel="nofollow" target="" title="" type="" value="">esotam</a><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br />Also look here:<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Trend Micro Security keeps on detecting files or programs that are already added to the Exception List<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><a alt="" href="https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/1104509.aspx?_ga=1.73137242.895749077.1481237484" name="" rel="nofollow" target="" title="Link httpsesupporttrendmicrocomen-ushomepagestechnical-support1104509aspx_ga1731372428957490771481237484" type="" value="">https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/1104509.aspx?_ga=1.73137242.89574...</a><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Kind regards,<br />Tom<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /> 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19851709 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040 19851709 esotam responded to "Exception List has no effect" 2018-11-11T00:58:12Z 2018-11-11T00:58:12Z esotam http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/9847826 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/d0852a31c015ea857c85530f9a03186d?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG esotam Hi Tom,<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Thanks for you quick reply. I am not aware of this registry method for creating white list. Judging by this 'above average complexity' method, I am confident that it will resolve my problem so I will give it a go later. On the other hand, it is far from User Friendly; just think about the other users with lesser computer knowledge!!!. I think TM needs to address this issue.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Thanks for you help.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Regards,<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /> 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19851992 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19851709 19851992 Tom Emmelot responded to "Exception List has no effect" 2018-11-11T13:31:23Z 2018-11-11T13:31:23Z Tom Emmelot http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/3296549 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/8626769/TOM_medium.jpg tom_emmelot Hi <a alt="" href="https://en.community.trendmicro.com/tm_en/people/esotam" name="" rel="nofollow" target="" title="" type="" value="">esotam</a><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Still try to help you,<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Can you make a screenshot from the files that are detected in the Exception list?<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Did you put the windows folder in the "Folder shield"?<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Did you try to put the whole folder in the Exception list?<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Here from you.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Kind regards,<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Tom<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /> 0 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19853055 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040 19853055 esotam responded to "Exception List has no effect" 2018-11-12T12:44:18Z 2018-11-12T12:44:18Z esotam http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/9847826 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/d0852a31c015ea857c85530f9a03186d?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG esotam Hi Tom,<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Thanks for your enthusiasm.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />I don't use the "Folder Shield" feature. I did try it out sometime ago but found it inconvenient occasionally.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />All entries in the Exception List are file names, no folders. I have not changed anything yet but all of a sudden, the problem stops yesterday and today (12 Nov 2018) after a 7 consecutive days drama i.e. from 4/11/18 to 10/11/18 inclusive. Prior to this, I did have the problem occasionally but it was this 7-days drama which prompted me to air my frustration. Right now I simply wait for a few more days before I do anything. I am sorry that I don't want to disclose the file names on the list as I consider them personal data.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Regards 1 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040/replies/19853110 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7816040 19853110 TM_Joemar responded to "Exception List has no effect" 2018-11-12T13:22:20Z 2018-11-12T13:22:20Z TM_Joemar http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/9819329 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/11334854/tm-logo_medium.png joemar_belmonte Hello&nbsp;<a href="https://console.getsatisfaction.com/manage/102939/users/9847826" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Link https//consolegetsatisfactioncom/manage/102939/users/9847826">esotam</a>,<br /><br />Welcome to the Community!<br /><br />In case files are still detected / deleted by the Trend Micro program after adding it to Exception List, you may follow the steps on this article on how to add it to white list.<br /><br /><a href="https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/1104509.aspx?cm_mmc=Community-_-SCSPost-_-AllProducts-_-All " rel="nofollow" title="Link: https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/1104509.aspx?cm_mmc=Community-_-SCSPost-_-AllProducts-_-All ">Trend Micro Security keeps detecting files or programs that are already added to the Exception List</a><br /><br />Regards,<br />Joemar<span class="_wysihtml5-temp"></span> 2
