IIRC, there is the Replace All command, but I don't think that would be a good idea with a category like Miscellaneous.

It has been almost 9 years since I used that program, though, so there might be a shortcut I am missing. Maybe somebody else can advise. 3 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7827393/replies/19895473 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7827393/replies/19895404 19895473 smayer97 (QM2007, CDN user since '92) responded to "Recategorize multiple transactions in Quicken Mac 2007?" 2018-12-09T02:53:47Z 2018-12-09T02:53:47Z smayer97 (QM2007, CDN user since '92) http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/533043 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10911408/imgres-2_medium.jpg smayer97 That is about correct. If you have other transactions in the miscellaneous category as with your UBER transactions, there is no easy way to only target those in a batch... It would be an all or nothing proposition.

2 other approaches to consider:
- if the OTHER transactions in the miscellaneous category are few enough, you may consider changing all of them to whatever you want to change for UBER, by changing the category name itself in the Category list, then re-categorizing all the other transactions one at a time.
- if the above does not work, one trick I use is to create a report listing all the UBER transactions. Then click one at a time on the report and manually re-categorize the transactions. This will not make the effort smaller BUT it will give you a visible view of which transactions have been change and which have not. The nice thing about this trick is that it gives you visible tracking of how much you have done and how much is left AND the report dynamically updates to show you the new category in the report WITHOUT recreating the report, seeing transactions with the new categorization AND the rest with the old categorization... give it a try and you will see what I mean...

(If you find this reply helpful, please be sure to click "Like", so others will know, thanks.)
1 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7827393/replies/19895482 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7827393 19895482 Dave responded to "Recategorize multiple transactions in Quicken Mac 2007?" 2018-12-09T03:12:22Z 2018-12-09T03:12:22Z Dave http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8900282 https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/2dcd3398a6de3f17e3720cbc25090043?d=identicon&s=55&r=PG dave_2o1yzl77q626n Thanks Smayer and John!

Yep, Smayer's 2nd approach is the one that presented itself to me at first- i.e. using a QuickReport and editing one by one. I thought surely I must be missing a trick, but sounds like that might be my best route. I suppose I can whack away at it here and there and be done by next year! 1
