Have biweekly income set up and budget categories created in Quicken now, but can’t find where income is allocated to budget categories for each paycheck (set up once and then it repeats when you enter the next paycheck). After scanning a hundred or so community topics, we didn’t see an answer to this one, so please help! question windows windows complete 1 3 1 comment http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7827430/replies/19895507 http://m.getsatisfaction.com/topics/7827430 19895507 QPW responded to "Income allocation to budget categories" 2018-12-09T03:47:47Z 2018-12-09T03:47:47Z QPW http://m.getsatisfaction.com/people/8342820 https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/public/uploaded_images/10875282/original_medium.gif qpw First off let me say that Quicken doesn't support envelope budgeting.&nbsp; As in the transferring of amounts between budget categories as time goes on.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />So you aren't exactly allocating parts of your income to different categories.&nbsp; Instead your budget is how much income do you expect, and for the expense categories how much you intend to spend in each category in a given month.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />If you switch from the Graph view to the Annual view it might be a bit easier to see.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />For the paycheck you can either track all the categories in the paycheck individually or if you just want the net income you can go to the Paycheck section when selecting the categories and select your paycheck.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />Then you would select all the expense categories you want to have in your budget.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />And for each category you would put in the amount you expect to get/spend for the given month.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />As for the "actuals" the amounts come from two sources.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />One is the transactions in your registers.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />The other is the reminders for future transactions.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />There is an option to turn off using the reminders for future prediction in the Budget Actions menu -&gt; View options.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />You can also filter by accounts if you like.<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" />There is also the option to rollover any amount not used this month into next month:<br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /><img alt="" name="" rel="" src="https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/1766226/RackMultipart20181209-45804-1wv9bvq-Rolloever_inline.PNG?1544327131" target="" title="Image httpsd2r1vs3d9006apcloudfrontnets3_images1766226RackMultipart20181209-45804-1wv9bvq-Rolloever_inlinePNG1544327131" type="" value="" /><br alt="" name="" rel="" target="" title="" type="" value="" /> 1
